The Cari Network is building a blockchain-based payment system powering real-time, 24/7 movement of digital money across the traditional finance and digital asset ecosystems. A pre-launch startup, we're creating an entirely new category of financial infrastructure that brings cash on chain through tokenization while powering the full spectrum of payments for our network—banks, digital asset exchanges, and, most importantly, the customers they serve.
We are seeking a VP, Business Development to help expand the Cari Network through the U.S. banking ecosystem. You will manage a robust pipeline of prospective banking partners, guiding them through the process of evaluating, joining, and signing up to integrate into the Network.
About the Role
Cari is seeking a motivated and experienced VP, Business Development to join our growing team. This is a critical, high-impact role that requires expertise in financial technology sales, with a specific focus on banking payment solutions. The VP, Business Development will act as an individual contributor focused on developing strategic relationships that lead to network partnership agreements and integration commitments from qualified bank clients. With a scope beyond a traditional sales role, this position offers the opportunity to be a foundational member of the commercial team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborating closely with the rest of the Cari founding team.
What You'll Do
Manage and Own the Sales Cycle: Take full ownership of the sales pipeline, meticulously tracking leads and opportunities from qualification to closure.
Close Deals: Successfully negotiate and close high-value contracts with senior bank executives to secure new partnership agreements and drive initial adoption and commercial expansion.
Build Executive Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior-level decision-makers and key stakeholders within target financial institutions.
Product and Market Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on the Cari Network, effectively communicating the Cari’s value proposition to potential clients. Similarly, provide market feedback and insights to the product and engineering teams to help shape the future development of the Network.
Sales Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and detailed reports on pipeline status.
Qualifications
U.S.-based with an ability to travel up to 75%.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
7−10 years of successful, quota-carrying experience in direct sales roles at a financial services, financial technology, or similar organization.
Proven experience selling directly to senior bank executives (e.g., SVP, EVP, C-level).
Strong working knowledge base in bank payments, preferably with experience or understanding of the shift toward digital assets.
Experience with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency is a significant plus.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
