Lead Project Manager

Remote (U.S.) — Full Time

The Cari Network is building a blockchain-based payment system powering real-time, 24/7 movement of digital money across the traditional finance and digital asset ecosystems. A pre-launch startup, we're creating an entirely new category of financial infrastructure that brings cash on chain through tokenization while powering the full spectrum of payments for our network—banks, digital asset exchanges, and, most importantly, the customers they serve.

We are seeking a Lead Project Manager to drive the cross-functional execution that brings the Cari Network to life. You will orchestrate complex programs across engineering, risk and compliance, product, and operations—serving as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders and keeping every team aligned, informed, and moving forward.

About the Role

Cari is seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to join our growing team as a core member of the company's shared services function. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role responsible for planning, sequencing, and delivering mission-critical projects—keeping internal teams aligned and accountable. The Lead Project Manager reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and partners closely with leaders across engineering, product, operations, and risk and compliance. Success in this role demands exceptional internal client management and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and keep diverse teams working in lockstep.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Cross-Functional Delivery: Own the end-to-end planning and execution of complex, interdependent programs spanning engineering, product, operations and risk and compliance—managing scope, schedule, dependencies, and risk from initiation through delivery.

  • Coordinate Across Internal Teams: Coordinate engineers, product managers, operations staff and compliance and risk partners toward shared milestones, removing blockers and maintaining momentum across concurrent workstreams.

  • Manage Internal Clients: Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders across teams—understanding their needs, managing expectations, and ensuring delivery teams stay aligned to shared goals.

  • Establish Program Rigor: Build and operate the project management practices, tooling, and reporting cadences that the organization needs as it scales—status reporting, risk and issue tracking, RAID logs, and clear decision-making frameworks.

  • Communicate Status and Risk: Provide clear, accurate, and timely updates on program health, milestones, dependencies, and risks to the Cari leadership team, escalating issues early and proposing paths to resolution.

Qualifications

  • U.S.-based with the ability to travel as needed to support partners and internal teams.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8–12 years of project or program management experience delivering cross-functional technology initiatives, ideally within financial services, fintech, or a similar regulated environment.

  • Proven success managing and delivering cross-functional programs in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

  • Exceptional internal client management and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, manage expectations, and keep diverse stakeholders aligned.

  • Strong command of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches) and the judgment to apply them pragmatically.

  • Working knowledge of bank payments, technology integrations, and the risk and compliance considerations inherent to regulated financial products.

  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences and to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.

  • Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation: salary, bonus and equity

  • Full medical, vision, dental benefits

  • 401(k) with matching program

  • Flexible vacation policy (PTO) and remote-first work environment
