Staff Designer (UI/UX) — Contractor

Remote (U.S.) — Contract

The Cari Network is building a blockchain-based payment system powering real-time, 24/7 movement of digital money—in the form of deposit tokens called Cari—across the traditional finance and digital asset ecosystems. We're creating an entirely new category of financial infrastructure that brings cash on chain through tokenization while powering the full spectrum of payments for our network—banks, digital asset exchanges, and, most importantly, the customers they serve.

We're looking for a contracted Designer to serve as a hands-on product designer responsible for shaping the user experience and visual language of Cari’s MVP. This role is primarily focused on designing institutional-grade UI/UX for B2B financial products—including dashboards, internal tools, and partner- and user-facing interfaces—while also supporting a smaller set of marketing and brand assets.

About the Role

Reporting to Cari’s Designer, you’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to translate complex financial, operational, and technical workflows into clear, intuitive, and scalable interfaces. This is a 0->1 environment: there are no legacy systems to inherit, and design decisions made here will directly influence the long-term usability, extensibility, and credibility of the platform.

This role is best suited for a designer who has deep experience in B2B payments, enterprise fintech, or business-oriented digital financial products, and who is comfortable designing for technical, operational, and compliance-oriented users. Experience with crypto or blockchain products is a plus, but not required.

What You'll Do

PRODUCT & MVP DESIGN (≈80%)

  • Design end-to-end UI/UX for core MVP components, including internal and partner-facing tools, developer portals, dashboards, and workflows.

  • Translate complex financial and operational concepts into clear interfaces for external bank stakeholders, their end users, and Cari internal teams.

  • Partner closely with Product Management to interpret requirements and user needs, and with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible, precise,  implementation-ready, and implemented accurately.

  • Develop user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes to support product definition, review, and build.

  • Establish and evolve a foundational component library and design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and speed across MVP surfaces.

  • Participate in design reviews, iterate quickly on feedback, and help raise the overall bar for product craft.

MARKETING & BRAND DESIGN (≈20%)

  • Support design needs for external-facing assets, including website pages, product visuals, presentation materials, and selective social graphics.

  • Ensure visual consistency between product UI and brand expressions as Cari’s identity continues to take shape.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate product concepts into clear, credible visual storytelling for external audiences.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with a strong emphasis on B2B payments, enterprise fintech, or commercially-oriented digital financial products

  • Strong portfolio showcasing responsive interfaces, dashboards, developer portals, or internal tools

  • Fluency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and comfort in producing production-ready design artifacts

  • Experience building or contributing to design systems or component libraries

  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working closely with Product Managers and Engineers in early-stage environments

  • Clear visual design sensibility paired with strong UX judgment and attention to detail

  • Experience in payments, banking, financial infrastructure, or regulated environments strongly preferred

  • Crypto or blockchain product experience is a plus, but not required
